9:00 AM - Registration and Breakfast
Check in to receive your personalized name tag in addition to catching a complimentary breakfast while mingling with other attendees. Check in time officially ends at 10:00 A.M. Please be sure to arrive on time!

10:00 AM - Opening Remarks
Enjoy welcoming words from the faces behind the conference about our mission and the layout of the day’s events

10:15 AM - First Breakout Group
Mix and mingle with other NYCAASC attendees before the workshops begin and talk about how you identify (or not) with "Asian Pacific America."

11:00 AM - Track 1, Roots
Explore the “roots”, both big and small, of struggle and perseverance that have grounded the Asian/Pacific/American experience through insightful panels and interactive workshops.

12:30 PM - Lunch
Take a break from workshop panels and breakout groups and enjoy a buffet of thai, chinese, and malaysian cuisine.

1:00 PM - Keynote Speech
Our keynote speaker is Gary Y. Okihiro, professor of international and public affairs and the founding director of the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University. He is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Studies Association and the Association for Asian American Studies and is a past president of the Association for Asian American Studies.

1:45 PM - Second Breakout Group
Follow up on and debrief on some of the themes from the workshops during Track 1 (Roots) in smaller breakout groups with speakers, new panelists, and attendees.

2:30 PM - Track 2
Climb up the “branches” of our second workshop track as we apply our earlier themes of history and activism to a diverse set of contemporary issues. The view is clearer up here!

4:00 PM - Third Breakout Group
Follow up on and debrief on some of the themes from the workshops during Track 2 (Branches) in smaller breakout groups with speakers, new panelists, and attendees.

5:00 PM - Talent Show
Local Asian American performers Ivan Polanco, Sung Lee, Pocholo Valderrama, and Serendipity dance crew will compete to be the 2014 NYCAASC talent show winner.

5:20 PM - MC Jin
After remaining undefeated for 7 weeks om BET program "106 & Park", MC Jin became the first Asian American rapper to sign with a major record label, Ruff Ryders Entertainment. Get ready for the hype!

5:50 PM - Raffle and Talent Show Results
Are you a fan of Game of Thrones, Awkwafina, and Dumbfoundead? Attendees have the chance to win these awesome raffle prizes and more! The winner of NYCAASC talent show will be also be revealed!

6:15 PM - Closing Remarks and Talent Show Results
