Ramey Ko

RAMEY KO is an attorney and political/community activist in Austin, Texas. In December 2006, Ramey founded the independent grassroots organization Asian Americans for Obama, anchored by its website, www.AsianAmericansforObama.com. He later served as a member of the steering committee of the Obama campaign's Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders Leadership Council.

Ramey first became active in AAPI issues in college, interning with the Organization of Chinese Americans in Washington, DC in summer of 1999 (along with fellow facilitator Giles Li) and serving as Political Chair of the Chinese American Students Association. He later served as Vice President of his school's chapter of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. Ramey first became active in grassroots politics with Governor Howard Dean's campaign for President in 2004. Ramey also currently serves on the board of Asian Pacific Americans for Progress, a national progressive grassroots organization.

Ramey is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Chicago Law School. He loves cooking and karaoke, even though he can't really sing.
